This add on was used to heat the garage on waste heat from the flue gases of the boiler. Unfortunately, the blower unit was jammed. So long as the heat exchanger is in good shape carbon monixide and other exhaust gasses will not be distributed into the living area.
Sacrificial anode rod from a water heater. The homeowner's plumber suggested he change the anode rod to extend the life of the water heater. This is a GREAT idea, too bad it's hardly ever done.
